Partners
In the advertisement industry I found out that you network with mostly everyone in the company. This quarter my teacher decided to assign our work with partners. Yes having a partner is a little difficult because you have to communicate your ideas with someone else, and make time to meet with them. However it does have its advantages because then you have someone to get ideas from, and someone to learn new things from. Overall I enjoyed working with a partner, because I felt it just made my work better.

Butcher
I attended a hearing by Butcher, who is currently a designer. It was interesting to hear someone so passionate about his work, without being so dull, this guy was funny yet informational. I am someone who likes things out of the ordinary, so to see someone create monsters really got my attention. Butcher was really motivating to me, because he really conveyed the meaning of if you really want something or your passionate a career move then you can achieve it.

Careern Day 2
This is a continuation to career day 1 which took place on October 10. Career day 2 was on October 11, and this day dealt more with learning about each of the individual careers in advertisement. Each area of the industry had a speaker discuss in detail what it is that they are responsible for and pretty much what a day looks like in their department. Everyone that attended was divided into groups and then each group sat down with a different person from that industry. Attending the career day help me learn about the inner workings of an advertising agency, and in reality it brought you closer to taking off and becoming part of the advertisement industry, because people there answered questions, talked about resumes, and they even had companies show up take your resume, or hand you a paper that explains what to do to get your foot in the door.
Carrer Day 1
Unsure of what I want to do with a degree in graphic design, or undecided on which path to take, I decided to sign up for an Advertising career day sponsored by MAT and think LA. The whole day was based on visiting two advertising agencies and get a first hand look at how advertisements go from the drawing board to being viewed by many. It was a great help and lots of fun attending the career day, because it open the door to all these other career paths that I could take, from media service to creative service, interactive, and so on. All these people work together and help each other out. However if you still like working alone being a freelance graphic designer is still an option.
